Shakira and Missy Elliot's Story

We recently adopted Missy Elliot and Shakira from HSU and it was an amazing experience. Everyone was very nice and helpful throughout the process of their adoption. These two cuties have free range of the home with supervision and a shared pen for night time. They are settling in very well and are very sweet buns.

 

Riku's Story

In October, HSU featured a Black Cat special right before Halloween. My husband and I went expecting to get a kitty, but fell in love with an adult cat named Riku instead. The moment I entered his room, he came to me for attention. After sitting with him in my lap for several minutes, I knew that I had not come here to choose a cat - I had come here for this cat to choose me. 

Izzy and Bella's Story

I brought Bella and Izzy home on a beautiful October day. I knew I eventually wanted two or more, but had been planning on just one that day. They were playing together so well and the attendant said they came up together from LA and had been playing most of the time. The minute I held them my heart just melted.

I was nervous but had asked lots of questions to make sure they would fit my lifestyle. Having them made my home lighter and more joyful:)

Luke's Story

We went in to HSU to meet this adorable 11-month-old rat named Luke. One of our 3 fatty ratties had recently passed away & you could tell the 2 were missing their brother.
When we stopped in, I went straight to the cage & pulled him out. The volunteer in the small animal area made a sound of amazement & told me that I was the very 1st person that Luke did not nip at. It was instant love! 

Teague's Story

On June 9, 2017 my 13 year old son and I stopped by the Humane Society to visit Kitty City. We have a spoiled, obnoxious 7 year old Siamese, Sam at home and have never thought about getting a second cat, just stopped by to visit and scratch a few chins. Five days later I received an email for an adoption event that weekend. I showed it to my son and something just told me we should go. If, a big IF, we get another cat, I wanted an older kitten or one about a year old. Saturday 6/17/17 we get up early and head to the PetsMart for the adoption event.
