Become a Volunteer!
Every minute you donate to help a homeless pet helps to keep tails wagging and voices purring. You can tell in their furry faces that you make a difference. The Humane Society of Utah is dependent on dedicated volunteers to help save the lives of Utah's homeless pets.
The Humane Society of Utah offers a number of opportunities for volunteers.
Many volunteers enjoy working with the dogs, including socializing, exercising, walking, and training. Others spend time with the cats in “Kitty City” attending to their needs. There are essential cleaning duties that all volunteers are asked to help with as well. Volunteers are also needed to participate in Outreach Adoption events that occur every weekend offsite—helping the Outreach staff with the animals and interacting with the public. Others serve as adoption counselors at Outreach events after going through a training period. There are also many Special Events that are regularly scheduled throughout the year that require volunteers.
We do accept Court Ordered Community Service. You must contact Volunteer Coordinator, Lisa Burningham, by E-mail at email@example.com. Following receipt of your E-mail you will be scheduled to attend an orientation meeting (bring your Driver’s License or State ID, and court documents showing your offense). Minimum age for Community Service is eighteen (18). No violent, sexual, animal related or drug offenses are accepted.
Another opportunity is fostering animals who need special care because they are sick, too young or need socialization training until they are suitable for adoption.
After you have submitted your online application, it will be reviewed by our Volunteer Coordinator, Lisa Burningham, and you will receive an e-mail reply with an available Orientation date/time to attend. Please allow up to one week for an e-mail response.
We couldn't do it without you!
