Rousette's Story

I adopted my sweet kitten, Rousette (formerly named Alice), from HSU about 2 weeks ago and I already cannot imagine my life without her. She is cute, friendly, well-behaved, and above all, my best friend. She improves my life in every way, and I could not be happier with my adoption.

Smoak's Story

My husband and I just bought our own home. We have always been around our parents' animals and we noticed we missed that love and companionship having an animal in the home brings. We decided to go look for a cat at the Human Society. This first cat we looked at ended up being the one who stole our hearts! She sat there so quietly and patiently and she was rated one of the best cats with kids!

Jake's Story

Jake had no idea about the adventures he was about to embark upon with our family when we met him for the first time and fell helplessly in love with him at the HSU. We lived with Jake in Utah for approximately 6 months before finding out we had an opportunity to live in Canada. As he had become a very loved and important member of our family we did not hesitate to include him in our big move. We drove all the way from Utah to Canada with Jake and discovered how much he enjoys long distance driving.

Cookie's Story

After a long search for a family dog, I happened upon Cookie during a Petco adoption. The staff were great and patient with me and my kids. Cookie has adjusted very well and adores the kids and sleeps with them every night. She has been a great running, biking, hiking and skiing partner for me, and man is she fast!!! I look forward to many happy years with Cookie. Thank you for making our adoption easy. We are thrilled with our newest addition to the family.

Kenai's Story

KENAI has become my sweet lovable baby who snuggles with me all the time and is a part of the family. My kids and hubby love him to death and he is well on his way to becoming a great service dog for me. He no longer has anxiety and stays close to home when let out. He is learning to socialize with other dogs without being scared and is good about letting strangers pet him without being afraid as long as I'm near. He alerts me when I'm sleeping to noises and has gained weight like a champ. He plays with toys and bounces through the house happy with his tail waving like a banner.

Maggie's Story

I just wanted to share a quick photo of my Thanksgiving turkey, Maggie. She found her forever home and a big sister (name Thursday, because we rescued her on a Thursday) back in April and has been a goofy little angel ever since.
I was there on the Saturday before Easter trying to figure out what I could do to volunteer or foster, met her and fell in love in 2 seconds.
Thank you guys for all that you do!

Bela's Story

Bela pic

Last Saturday I adopted Bela, a 3 month old Russian Blue/mix kitten who is just the most affectionate and loving kitten ever. She has adjusted beautifully and is enjoying her new life.

Bela has a kitty tower and likes to look out the window where she can watch three active bird feeders. We call it her "kitty TV".

Please send along my thanks and these photos to Bela's (Formerly named Teagan) to her foster mom, Elizabeth Stalling, and let her know that Bela is safe, warm, well fed, and well loved!

Sincerely,
Fred

Galaxy's Story

The day my fiancé and I adopted Galaxy "Lexi" we actually really had no intention of getting a puppy. We've talked about getting a puppy for a while and we both wanted one but we were going to wait a little while longer. That day we were going to go swimming but I suggested stopping by the shelter to pet the dogs and just look around for a minute then we could go to the pool, so my fiancé being the amazing guy he is agreed and drove us there. We went right to the dogs and the minute we saw Galaxy and played with her for a few minutes we fell in love.

Aeva's Story

We adopted Aeva on July 31, 2015. She had been at the shelter for a little over a month. She has become the Queen Bee at our home. She settled right in after just a few minutes, and has quickly won the hearts of all of our friends and family. She is so patient with my daughters and our dogs. We couldn't imagine life without her and we are so so grateful that you brought her into our lives!! Thank you so much.

Mesa's Story

Mesa pic
In March of 2015 we came to the Humane Society so our daughter could adopt a dog. In the small dog room, farthest kennel back on the left was a little chihuahua mix (we think part husky as well.) The Humane Society named her "Sandy." She arrived three days before from L.A. and was listed as five or six years old. No information came with her from L.A. She wasn't barking or whining, just full of excitement, wagging her tail and standing up against the gate in hopes we would come her way, and we did.
