Halloween pet safety tips

MURRAY, UT (Oct. 26, 2017) --The Humane Society of Utah reminds pet owners to keep pets safe during holiday events

 

Increased activity and open doors may pose risks for pets during the Halloween season. The Humane Society of Utah (HSU) reminds pet owners that holiday festivities may be stressful for their furry family members and encourages extra attention when opening doors to costumed visitors and partygoers.

Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet Food, a leading super-premium pet food company, delivered 27,180 pounds of their nutritious pet food to help feed animals at the Humane Society of Utah (HSU) in Murray, Utah. The donation is part of the pet food company’s Fill A Bowl… Feed A Soul™ (FABFAS) program, a national campaign targeting one million meals for shelter pets annually.

Pet safety tips during July holidays

MURRAY, UT (June 28, 2017) -- Firework and party safety tips for pet owners from the Humane Society of Utah

 

The Humane Society of Utah adoption center will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 4, 2017.

 

The July 4 and 24 holidays bring fun, food and fireworks that can cause harm to pets. Animals may be injured during barbeques or go missing during firework displays.

 

Utah law allows an extended opportunity for fireworks to be discharged July 1-7 and 21-27 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and until midnight July 4 and 24.
