Sweet Tabitha and I are coming up on our 3 year anniversary together this month and I just want to thank the Humane Society of Utah for caring for and bringing me together with the love of my life. Tabby had been dropped off at the shelter at least twice before I found her and was very shy and scared when she came to me. It's been amazing to watch her gain confidence and trust over the past 3 years.
I'm so grateful I found her and have had the joy of providing her with her forever home. She is the best hiking partner, climbing buddy, and cuddler a girl could ask for.
I had a sudden urge to add to my little family in December 2017, so I went looking for a cat. I had originally gone in to look at two others, but when I laid eyes on Luna (then known as Boo) and she rolled on her back and offered her tummy, I knew it was love at first sight. Luna is now spoiled rotten with love, toys, treats, and tags along with me and her new brother, Leo, everywhere I go. She is the most loving cat I’ve ever had the honor of knowing!
I wanted to say thank you for giving me the opportunity to rehabilitate Rainey. She's been absolutely amazing. As of 24 hours after being in the home she now allows the leash without hesitation. Because she has given me such trust so quickly I have allowed her free range in my living room and kitchen and the ability to interact with Nala my husky. It has gone flawlessly. Rainey barks when she wants outside and is mimicking my husky for things she wants. I wanted to give you an update because I'm sure you're wondering about her progress. It's not baby steps. It's leaps and bounds.
I adopted my cat Jane (I never changed her name because it fit her so well) in July of 2015 after the death of my previous cat. I was completely heartbroken. After a few weeks of mourning my beloved Ivy, I decided that there were more animals in need of homes that I could love and give a new chance at life, and could love me in return. I spent three hours wandering the Humane Society. I probably spent time with every cat there. I finally walked past a room with a paper on the window reading all about Jane from her previous foster family.

Our 12-year-old cat died in April of 2016. We grieved (still do), but opened our hearts to 8-year-old Niska in October 2016. He had some scars, a chunk missing from one ear, and was afraid of loud noises. This made us think he was a stray at one point, or even for most of his life. He came home with us and never went outside again. He had food, treats, his own mug for water (Mommy and Daddy have people cups. I want a people cup.), scratches, towers, everything. He spent that X-mas with us in complete awe. I don't think he had ever seen a X-mas tree or lights before.
