Working Like Dogs to Fight Animal Cruelty
The Humane Society of Utah (HSU) wants to educate and empower the community with animal advocacy information. The HSU provides the only full-time animal cruelty investigator in the state. Our investigator covers tens of thousands of miles each year responding to reports of animal neglect and abuse. We prepare thorough case records of each incident, and encourage prosecution in court when the situation warrants such action. The HSU's investigator also performs routine inspections of zoos, pet stores, animal control shelters and other facilities where animals are kept. Comprehensive file-keeping and up-to-the-minute familiarity with Utah's laws are an integral part of this department's work.
If you witness animal abuse in your neighborhood, at your place of employment, or while traveling through Utah, please contact John Paul Fox, Chief Investigator, at (801) 261-2919 ext. 210 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Or, contact your local animal control department or law enforcement agency. The National Link Coalition is proud to announce the first National Directory of Abuse Investigation Agencies to make it easier for people to report animal cruelty, child maltreatment and elder abuse, and to help domestic violence survivors find safety.
