Murray, UT (Sept. 11, 2018) — Alt 101.9 FM radio personality lives in the animal shelter to raise donations
Radio personality Lindsey Armstrong with Alt 101.9 FM is voluntarily living at the Humane Society of Utah (HSU) located at 4242 S. 300 W. in Murray, Utah until she raises a set goal of $3,000 in physical and monetary donations for the shelter animals. As part of her fundraising efforts, Lindsey is holding a Kitten Yoga class Tuesday, Sept. 11 from 8-9 p.m. at the HSU adoption center auditorium. All donations raised for her donation-based “adoption fee” benefits the Humane Society of Utah homeless animals 100 percent. Lindsey is sleeping on a cot inside a Kitty City cat villa among the shelter cats and broadcasting live from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. each day to encourage donations.
“This is the fourth year that Lindsey has moved in to live at HSU with the shelter pets,” said Deann Shepherd, HSU representative. “We’re grateful for her dedication to the animals, and to the fact that she’s donating her time to promote our services and adoptable pets.”
Lindsey began the event Monday, Sept. 10 and plans to stay at the shelter until her goal of raising $3,000 is achieved. Online donations may be made through the Alt 101.9 and HSU websites, or visitors are welcome to bring items in and meet Lindsey in person.
The Kitten Yoga class will be taught by Sophia Wallman who has over 200 hours of yoga instruction, including classes with goats. All available spots in the class have been filled.
Items currently needed by HSU include kitten and puppy milk replacement formula, wet and dry kitten and puppy food, cat litter, stainless steel food and water bowls, pet beds, blankets, and pet toys.
