$1,000 reward offered for dog shot, killed in Uintah County

MURRAY, UTAH (Oct. 14, 2016) -- Humane Society of Utah adds a reward for the arrest in dog shooting case

The Humane Society of Utah (HSU) is adding $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for shooting a Doberman dog named Chunk in Gusher, Utah. The HSU hopes the reward assists the Uintah County Animal Control and Shelter in obtaining information required to identify and charge whoever is responsible for this allegedly intentional act of senseless animal cruelty.

Chunk's Story

We adopted Chunk 8 months ago and it was the best thing we could have done! Chunk is a pit-bull terrier who was transferred from another shelter, he had no history and I think he may have been a mischievous mutt too! But needless to say, we fell in love with this slobbery 50-pound lap dog and brought him home. It wasn't always easy at first, we had to start from the beginning with potty, house and obedience training. But it turned out that all Chunk needed was lots of love and a new home to become the best dog ever! He has more personality in 1 paw than most people!

Maggie's Story

We came to your center February 2015 and we were introduced to Maggie she was so sweet. When we got home with her she was nervous and stayed by my side. Everyone loved her especially our pet a black lab buddy who wanted a playmate. Maggie took over mothering skills for Buddy and they became best friends. We are so happy that we were able to add Maggie to our family. She is doing wonderful and even though she was skittish around the guys of the house at first. Now, my husband is her favorite.
