Pippin is a sweet, somewhat shy dog who loves to play with toys and gets along well with other chill dogs. She is housetrained and affectionate with people she knows. This lovely dog was flown to Utah Humane from an overcrowded Mississippi shelter as part of a group of 66 mama dogs and their puppies. Her puppies have been adopted and now it's her turn to find a loving home. Because she tested positive for heartworm infection, a common problem in some areas of the country, she needs a foster-to-adopt home that is able to care for her for a few months through her treatment. Utah Humane provides all necessary heartworm treatment at no cost to the foster/adopter, although there is more work for the foster/adopter in terms of giving medications, bringing the dog for medical treatment, and restricting activity in the home. Benefits to the foster/adopter include a chance to get to know the dog before finalizing the adoption, naming your own price for the adoption fee, and the knowledge that you have truly made the difference in the life of an animal who needed you.
