The Humane Society of Utah (HSU) is a community-supported 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal shelter. We rely on private donations from individuals, businesses and foundations to save helpless and homeless animals. The HSU receives no tax dollars from federal, state, or local government funding, nor are we a chapter of any national organizations (such as the Humane Society of the United States, American Humane Association, Best Friends Animal Society or the ASPCA). When you donate to the HSU, you are helping the over 13,000 pets that enter our doors each year. To read more about the many lifesaving programs that your donation will support, please click here.
In addition, for any donation above $10.00, you will receive a one-year membership to the HSU, which entitles you to a 10% discount on services in our clinic, voting privileges at our annual membership meeting and a mailed subscription to our "Speaking of Animals" quarterly newsletter. In addition, your contribution is tax-deductible to the extent provided by law.
The Humane Society of Utah is dedicated to being transparent and accountable with our financial documents. The HSU is in good standing with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and nationally recognized nonprofit standard organizations, such as Guidestar, Charity Navigator and the Better Business Bureau.
