Fix on the Fifth

You are here

The Humane Society of Utah is partnering with Best Friends Animal Society and Salt Lake County Animal Services to provide FREE spay and neuter surgeries for cats and kittens on April 5th!

The collaboration between our three organizations serves to bring awareness to the very important issue of the homeless cat population in Utah and around the world. From early spring through late fall, shelters around the United States are inundated with mother cats and/or litters of kittens. This "Kitten Season" is a heavy burden on shelters and the euthanasia of cats during this time increases across the country. By spaying (female) or neutering (male) cats in Utah's communities, our organizations are helping reduce the need for euthanasia of healthy, adoptable cats in Utah’s shelters. There are behavioral and medical benefits to spaying and neutering your pets as well.
