Humane Society of Utah’s Clinic in Murray, Utah is now offering low-cost dental services for eligible patients!
Who is eligible?
- Cats and dogs in good health.
Pets 7 years and older must receive an examination with our vet and bloodwork to determine whether they are eligible for dental services with us.
- Must be current on vaccinations.
To prevent the spread of disease, we require that cats are current on their Distemper vaccination and dogs must be current on their Distemper/Parvo and Bordetella vaccinations.
- Must be sterilized.
If your pet is younger than 7 years old and has not been spayed or neutered, we can provide sterilization at the time of the dental procedure (for an additional cost).
What is included?
All dental procedures include a teeth cleaning (with a hand scaler) to remove tartar and bacteria from the teeth and from below the gumline. The teeth are then thoroughly polished to remove any remaining
plaque and minimize future buildup. When necessary, dental x-rays are used to identify oral health
concerns (periodontal disease, abscesses, infection, broken teeth, retained roots, etc.). Any affected teeth are then extracted and dissolvable sutures are used to close the extraction sites.
Pets with severe dental issues may be referred to a full-service veterinarian.
What is the cost?
- Full Dental: $500-800 (depending on patient’s need for x-rays and extractions)
- Dental Exam & Preanesthetic Bloodwork: $85 (for pets 7-10 years old)
- Dog Spay/Neuter: $300 (if not already sterilized)
- Cat Spay/Neuter: $150 (if not already sterilized)
