Celebrating 61 Years: Virtual 2021 Wags to Wishes Gala

You are here

Join us for an evening of fun from the comfort of your home as we celebrate our 61 years of helping animals. Sponsored by George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation, our 2021 Wags to Wishes Gala will take place on Saturday, December 4th, at 6 pm.

The event will feature a silent auction, fun-filled games, an hour-long, live program, special guests, and much more. And we will have a 'gala in a bag' option for those who want to take their at-home party to the next level. Tickets are available now and start at just $25 per person.

This annual gala is our largest fundraising event of the year, and our goal for 2021 is to raise over $150,000 for animals in need. If you cannot attend virtually, no worries! You can still help us reach our goal by making a tax-deductible donation towards our Gala Fund-a-Need project, which will directly benefit homeless puppies infected with life-threatening parvovirus.

Help Us Raise Money for Homeless Puppies Infected with Parvo:

  • The Need:  Our next big goal is to construct a parvo-ward at our Pet Resource Center in Murray so we can isolate and treat puppies on-site who arrive at our shelter with canine parvovirus. Currently, when an animal tests positive for parvo at our facility, we must either locate a willing foster to treat the dog in their home or pay a full-service veterinarian to treat the dog on an emergency, in-patient basis. Treating dogs with parvo in a foster home decreases survival rates and exhausts our valuable volunteers, and treating dogs through an outside emergency vet clinic is extremely expensive.

  • The Goal: While parvo is often deadly for puppies, survival rates can be as high as 90% with proper treatment. Building an isolated parvo ward on-site will allow our trained staff to adequately treat and carefully monitor infected pups while also protecting other dogs in our facility. An on-site parvo ward will also enable the Humane Society of Utah to reduce the overall risk of community transmission.

  • The Cost: The total cost to build an on-site parvo ward is $60,000. The good news is we've already raised $25,000, so we only need an additional $35,000 to reach our goal! Donating towards our Parvo Ward Construction Project is a great way to see your support go right to work at the Humane Society of Utah. Contributions of any size make a difference, so please consider donating today.
