Mikko's Story

I had been looking for a few weeks at the cat listings on the website, and kept going to "Opie." When I finally got a chance to go to the Utah Humane Society and look at the cats, I kept an open mind as to what cat I would like to adopt. I looked at three or four of them, one of which was Opie. I was drawn to him the minute I saw him in his cage and took him out. He was just so full of love and I couldn't just leave him there. I had a name picked out for him already, but by the time i had to register the chip in him, I just said "Mikko" and it has stuck with him since! After coming home with Mikko, I was going through his paperwork, and his one year birthday was the exact same day as I adopted him. What a beautiful gift for a birthday cat! He will always be in my home!! He follows me around all day, has a "fishing pole" that he likes to play fetch with, and is obsessed with catnip toys!! He is doing really well at his new home, and I'm glad I went with my gut feeling in choosing him. Thank you to the Humane Society for helping him out in his tough time and allowing me to take him home!
