Bruno's Story
Approximately 10 years ago my family and I decided to see if there were any pets that we might be interested in adopting from the humane society working through PETCO. We thought that our odds of finding a good fit for our home would be slim since the dogs shown today were abused. I was under the impression that all abused dogs would be defensive and make horrible pets, however, I was completely wrong!
I was 7 years old that day out front of PETCO. It may sound silly, but the moment I saw that hug, chubby newfoundland/lab mix "Bruno," I knew it was love at first sight! He was so friendly that I didn't believe it when I was told that he had been abused and his nose had been broken with a pipe by his previous owner. My family was so impressed by his sweet demeanor that we immediatly decided to bring him home.
That was one of the best decisions that we ever made as a family! Bruno has the funniest personality and, even at 100 pounds, proved to be a gentle and caring dog safe to have around the little children that lovingly nicknamed him, "The Bear." Bruno is truly one of the family, and has made a great older brother for his little sister Lily, a intelligent and funny cocker spaniel.
Now that I am going off to college, my family constantly teases that I will drop out as soon as I get there because I will miss my Bruno so much.
Thank you Humane Society for working so hard to give pets a second chance at having a good home!
-Love, Silver and Bruno
