VALENTINE’S DAY IS COMING ---
GET THE SWEETEST "CHOCOLATES" OF ALL AT THE HUMANE SOCIETY
The Humane Society of Utah is offering a Valentine’s Day special all through the month of February, during which any animal six months of age or older (excluding VIP pets) whose coat is mostly chocolate-colored — that is, any shade of brown — can be adopted for half the usual price. The eligible animals will have special heart-shaped cards on their kennels so potential adopters will know right where to start looking.
"The kind of love that animals offer — total, unconditional, and forever — is what we all dream of getting at least once in our lifetimes," says HSU Executive Gene Baierschmidt, "and it’s right here at the Humane Society. Who else will greet you with utter ecstasy every single night when you come home? Who else will cuddle up and soothe your frazzled nerves with the most beautiful sound in the world –- a deep, from-the-heart purr? Who else absolutely adores you without even noticing whether or not you’ve shaved, brushed your teeth, put on your makeup, combed your hair, or dressed up in a cool outfit? Who else gives the sweetest, most honest and sincere kisses in all the world? That’s right — the whole wonderful package is all wrapped up in that special animal that is waiting right now to share his or her complete heart and soul with you."
The Society, located at 4242 South 300 West, is open for adoptions from 10 AM to 7 PM Monday through Saturday, and from noon to 4 PM on Sundays. The adoption fees for our "Valentine Chocolates" will be $37.50 for dogs, $24.50 for cats, and even less for rabbits, hamsters, and other small mammals. For dogs, cats, and rabbits, this includes the animal’s spay or neuter surgery, the first shots, a bag of food, and a leash or carrier.
