HUMANE SOCIETY "RED TAG SPECIAL" MEANS GREAT ADOPTION BARGAINS
For the rest of the month of March, animals who have special tags on their kennels at the Humane Society of Utah’s shelter, located at 4242 South 300 West, can be adopted at discounts ranging from 10% to 50% off the already low prices.
"Spring is coming, and that means floods of new kittens and puppies," says HSU Executive Director Gene Baierschmidt. "We need to make room for the newcomers, and we already have a lot of cats and dogs and small mammals who would make wonderful companions. We just need to give the public a little extra incentive to come on out to the shelter and meet them." In addition to the lower fees, each adopter will receive a free ID tag for the new family member, engraved right there on the site with the appropriate information.
"Adoption from the Humane Society is an incredible bargain under any circumstances," says Mr. Baierschmidt. "The fee includes the animal’s spay or neuter surgery and de-worming, all of which are done before the animal is even put up for adoption, the first vaccinations, and a leash for dogs or a cardboard carrier for cats. In addition, a complete initial physical examination from any of 45 participating private veterinarians in the area is provided at no cost. And all of that is just the icing on the cake - the real bargain is getting the only true love that no amount of money can buy. A companion animal is a devoted friend for life."
The Society is open for adoptions from 10 AM to 7 PM Monday through Saturday and from noon to 4 PM on Sundays. For more information, please call 261-2919.
