KILLING OF BABY SEALS IN CANADA UNDERWAY AGAIN
We’re sorry to have to report that the Canadian government is once again sanctioning the brutal clubbing, shooting, and skinning of baby seals for their fur. These infants are slaughtered before their mothers’ eyes, and the sight of the mother seals grieving over the bloody little carcasses of their young is, for most people, unbearable to watch.

MARCH MICROCHIP MADNESS AT HUMANE SOCIETY
From now through the end of the month, any dog or cat adopted at the Humane Society of Utah’s shelter located at 4242 South 300 West can get an identification microchip implant for only $15, according to the organization’s Executive Director, Gene Baierschmidt.

HB 61 DIES IN SENATE
Last night at midnight time ran out for the 2006 Utah State Legislative session. HB 61, which would have made torture of an animal a third-degree felony offense, and also require the court to recommend psychological counseling for convicted, had been introduced by Rep Scott Wyatt (R-Logan) this year.
